04-28-08 PERC ruling
« on: April 29, 2008, 10:51:42 PM »
PERC has ruled that the PBA'S motion to stay the pending election has been denied. The ruling did not come as a surprise. PERC has a long history of refusing to "stay elections". No official dates have been set for the election, however the PBA feels it will take place the week of May the 20 th. The HCSO and Deputy J. V, Black, from our information have requested an on site vote in place of a mail in vote. As long as the PBA can be assured that each voter is treated fairly and allowed to vote without pressure, the PBA will agree to an on site vote. The process of an on site vote should provide quick results. The ballots / votes, as I understand it will be counted at the end of the vote (day two), on site. Then, we will all will know the out come. The process of a mail in vote takes several weeks, to a month.  The issue of the unfair labor practice will move forward. If you have further questions (member or not) please contact me or the WCFPBA office.
