Stipend issue

A word about stipends

Yes I do receive a stipend.  It is $10,000. per year.  I have received it for 3 years for being on the Charter Executive Board.  It works out to about $4. per hour with the hours put in.  When I was elected Charter President in January the position carried a stipend of $25,000. per year.  I cut this stipend by $15,000. and my pay remains at $10,000. per year.  Anyone that questions this is welcome to see my pay stub or contact the PBA for verification.
One of the first things the new Charter Board did was cut expenses.  Salaries were cut by $55,000. and we are selling two cars.

To our members:

Alot of questions has been asked about this issue.  Mike has answered it.  It is now a dead issue.
Don't let the scare tactics prevent you from voting to keep your voice from being heard.

Speaking of stipends, did you know that our middle and high schools teachers who coach a sport
receives a stipend?  They receive this stipend becuase they are volunteering their time to do jobs
that others do not want or unable to do because of other issues.  So they are rewarding with stipend
to cover expenses that are made on behalf of their student athelets.  In the same aspect, Mike and Steve
receives a stipend because they are doing work on our behalf to cover expenses made on our behalf.

One more thing.....you remember a little over two years ago; we didn't have a contract.  You know how many hours
that were put in by these two and the other members of the executive board.  They didn't have a PBA leave bank to take hours from.  All of these men and women did it on their on time and dime.  And they did it for us, especially the younger deputies.  Lets face it, within the next 5-10 years our leaders at the PBA and our leaders at the Sheriff's Office will be gone.  We, the PBA want to put our current and future benefits in writing. Even if Sheriff Gee is going to give us the world, there will be nothing any of us can do if Sheriff (your name here) decides to take it away.  So if we lose our voice now, we lose it forever.

Sofa King,

You flap your gums and have yet to make an educated point. Do us all a favor and take a little more time to THINK before you peck at your keyboard...
